This is Origins — a solo piano piece I wrote on a day when everything finally slowed down. I’m usually moving fast, thinking big, talking loud. But this came from a quieter place — the kind of space you only find when no one’s watching. The melody showed up like a memory. Simple, no tricks. Just something honest that needed to be played. This performance was recorded on my upright piano, and everything you hear is rooted in that moment. It’s raw in feeling, intentionally spacious, and emotionally direct — nothing added that didn’t need to be there. There’s a moment in the middle — the bridge — where the tone shifts. It moves away from what the ear has settled into, and I’ll be honest, I almost left it out. But that section says something important. It reflects how real journeys feel — not always neat, but deeply human.
